The Proximus website consists of several segments. Each segment has its own target audience and look and feel. To facilitate the maintenance of this site, Proximus has commissioned the Publishing Platform. This system allows the user to separately maintain the content and appearance of the site.

One of the design goals was to be vendor-independent. This was achieved by using standard a J2EE implementation. The development team also incorporated several freely available libraries (struts, DOM4J, log4j) to speed up development.

Mr. Geens was involved in defining the application architecture. He was also responsible for specifying and implementing the XML structure used for the data storage.
