Tasks: Development, AnalysisIn order to improve the quality and efficiency of the produced cars, Volvo Cars Gent maintains a database of operator actions for each workstation and car type (CPB). Each action is associated with a number of standard timings. These timings are used to determine the total time an operator needs to perform all actions.
The current application runs on a mainframe and has a number of limitations. Therefore, the decision was made to convert the application to a J2EE environment.
Mr. Geens was involved in the first phase of this transition: the creation of the new application and the first reports.
